Data Associate - New Hampshire Democratic Coordinated Campaign

Responsibilities:
- Planning and executing the automation of several critical processes for the campaign.
- Supporting the creation and implementation of the campaign’s data-driven approach to field priorities, which went on to inform decisions regarding resource management.
- Providing ad-hoc support to the data, organizing, and voter protection teams.
Projects:
- Developed an automated packet tracker for field use that, for a given staging location, displays the list of packets assigned to them, their priorities, their size, and other relevant information (all updated via our data pipelines), and critically, allowed for our team to quickly reassign packets to different locations.
- Optimized the placement of poll observers to polling locations along several factors (experience, distance, the priority of the polling location, etc.) by, first, developing a function to judge the appropriateness of a given observer-location pairing as a numerical weight. We then created a model to maximize assignments based on these weights.
- Automated requests from field for volunteer recruitment lists.
- Implemented our priority ranking for packets during GOTV based on packet density and the expected number of supporters for a given packet.
